Tavistock Nursery is now officially recognised as an Elklan Communication Friendly Setting.

This means our team has completed specialist training in supporting children’s speech, language and communication from the very start. We’ve worked together to create an environment that encourages talking, listening and understanding in everyday routines and play.

Strong communication skills help children feel confident, build friendships, and learn more easily. We’re proud to have achieved this award and to be giving every child the best start with language.

The inspectors described the nursery as “homely” and full of “stimulating learning experiences” that help children thrive in every way — from strong physical development to confident communication and a deep love of learning.

Some of the highlights from the report include:

• “Staff are incredibly responsive and sensitive to children’s needs.”
• “Babies demonstrate exceptionally warm relationships with staff.”
